Marcus Hiles, founder and CEO of Western Rim Properties, is a proud
graduate of Pepperdine University in California, with a master’s degree
in Business Administration. Hiles, the son of an inner-city preacher,
grew up in a modest, middle-class family wherein education was
emphasized as an important factor in personal and professional
development.
During Hiles’ youth, good work ethics and a hardworking attitude were the two main components of his personal education, both of which he applied to his academic education. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree from Rice University, Hiles moved onto a rigorous graduate school program at Pepperdine. Here, he learned the essential elements of creating, developing, and managing his own real estate business. Pepperdine offered him multiple opportunities through service leadership projects, nonprofit leadership collaborative, club activities, and scholarships, to hone the skills he would eventually use to create Western Rim Properties, a multi-billion-dollar company.
From this point, the future founder of Western Rim Properties refined his business skills, and began to work with various high-level real estate developers and investors to learn about the heart of the industry. At the age of 28, Marcus Hiles started his company, with a unique approach to providing well-appointed homes and apartments at economical prices for middle class families, including close proximity to necessary amenities and cities.
